Step-by-Step Guide

Accessing the Menu Item Creation Screen

To begin, make sure you're logged in to your Next Plus system with the necessary administrative permissions to modify the user interface.

  1. From the main dashboard, locate and click on the ‘Settings’ tab on the sidebar.

  2. Scroll down to the ‘User Interface’ (UI) section and select ‘Menus’.

  3. In the top right corner of the 'Menus' section, click the blue ‘+’ icon to create a new item.

Filling Out the Menu Item Details

Upon clicking the ‘+’ icon, you will be directed to the 'Create menu item' screen.

  1. Name: Enter a descriptive and concise name for your new menu item. This is the name that will appear in your system's navigation.

  2. Icon (Optional): Choose an icon that will be displayed next to the menu item. This visual cue can help users quickly identify the menu item.

  3. Weight: Assign a weight for your menu item. Items with lower weights appear higher in the menu list. Adjust this to position your item appropriately within the menu.

  4. Hidden: If you wish to create the item but not display it in the menu yet, you can check this box.

  5. Type: Choose between 'Link' and 'Page'. Select 'Page' to link to an internal page within the Next Plus system. If you want to link to an external URL, select 'Link'.

  6. Page: If 'Page' is selected, a dropdown will appear. Select the page you created that you wish to link to this menu item.

  7. Parent: (Optional) If this menu item should be nested under another item, select the parent item here.

  8. Role Block List / Role Allow List: Define which user roles should or should not have access to this menu item.

Once all the details are filled in, review your entries to ensure everything is correct.

Saving Your New Menu Item

After completing the form:

  1. Click on the blue ‘ADD’ button at the bottom right to save your new menu item.

  2. To see your changes reflected, refresh your system by either hitting the ‘Refresh’ button on your browser or navigating away and returning to the menu section.
