Implementing precise session timeout settings in NEXT PLUS significantly enhances the reliability of time logging within the system. By ensuring sessions terminate after a period of inactivity, the system accurately reflects active use, preventing the inflation of logged hours and providing a truer representation of work time. This is particularly important for businesses that track time for billing, productivity analysis, or workforce management. Regularly prompting users with timeout notifications also encourages timely and accurate time entry, reinforcing the integrity of time-tracking data. In essence, these settings are vital for ensuring that time logging is not only secure but also a true measure of employee engagement and resource utilization.

In the System Settings, you'll find a section dedicated to Session Settings, where you can specify how the system handles session timeouts.

  • Show "Session Timeout" Popup:

    • This option, when enabled, will display a warning popup to the user when the session is about to time out. The popup appears at the time specified in the adjacent field.

    • To set this, enter the desired time in seconds in the field labeled “Show 'Session Timeout' Popup.”

    • For instance, entering "1800" will trigger the popup after 30 minutes of inactivity.

  • Close Workflow Session Timeout:

    • This setting will automatically close a workflow session if it reaches the timeout threshold without any activity.

    • To adjust this, input the time in seconds in the “Close Workflow Session Timeout” field.

    • For example, typing "900" will result in sessions being closed after 15 minutes of inactivity.

Notes on Time Entries

  • All time values must be entered in seconds.

  • Ensure the values set align with your operational requirements and user expectations to avoid disrupting work unnecessarily.

Saving Your Settings

  1. Apply Changes: After entering your desired times, ensure to save your changes by clicking the 'Save' button typically found at the bottom of the settings page.
