The editor provides separate tools for bringing in instructions and producing a diagram or printout. A diagram export is not the same as a complete transferable workflow package.
Enter multiple instructions with Import Nodes from Workflow
The More menu groups workflow-wide actions. The capture shows a read-only example; availability can differ with the selected version and permissions.
Open More → Import Nodes from Workflow. Use the spreadsheet area to enter or paste rows. The dialog also offers example data and controls to add rows.
The grid includes instruction name, description, resource IDs, field name/type, Required, placeholder, help text, field resource, tools, location, chapter, and action code.
Start with a few rows. Use the example data to learn the column layout, then replace it with your own content. Use existing resource/catalog values where required rather than assuming a file path or arbitrary name is a valid identifier.
Check the dialog's validation messages and import only after correcting the rows.
AI-generated rows
Where enabled, the AI Step Generator can populate proposed instruction data from a prompt. Review the generated grid before importing.
Check field types, required flags, media references, and the meaning of each instruction. Generated rows are a starting point, not a validated process design.
After importing
Inspect the imported steps in Tree and Flow. Confirm chapter placement, fields, First Step, and route targets. Add or correct the intended branching conditions and preview the complete workflow.
Check the header/version after importing, especially if you began from a released workflow.
Import a VMM package
Use More → Import from Stepgen and choose the intended .nxtvmm file. This is a separate package-import operation, not the Import Nodes from Workflow spreadsheet.
Use a test copy when learning the import process. Inspect the resulting workflow/version, settings, dependencies, and validation before release.
Print the workflow
Open More → Workflow Settings → Actions → Print. Review the available print settings and preview. Check the selected content, pagination, media, and language before printing or using the browser's save-to-PDF option where available.
Export the diagram
Open More → View as SVG. Review the diagram, then use the available controls to copy Mermaid, copy diagram JSON, or download SVG.
These describe the flow chart. Do not treat diagram JSON as an export of every workflow setting, field, resource, or integration.
Keep the output's workflow name/version clear when sharing a printout or diagram.
