Prevent Duplicate File Uploads

What this is

You can now enforce file uniqueness in Next Plus. This means operators can’t upload the same file more than once, even if they rename it. The system checks the file itself (not just the filename) and blocks duplicates.

This is especially useful when you want to make sure operators always provide new evidence or images instead of re-using the same file. By doing this, you maintain higher reliability, traceability, and compliance across your processes.

Why this matters

Duplicate files often create confusion or weaken the integrity of production records. With this feature enabled, you can:

  • Ensure operators upload fresh inspection photos for every batch, instead of attaching the same picture multiple times.

  • Prevent technicians from re-using an old calibration report when a new one is required.

  • Guarantee that safety checks always have a current, unique file attached (e.g., a photo of a locked-out machine before maintenance).

  • Stop accidental re-use of an outdated test result that no longer reflects the latest run.

In short: this feature enforces discipline in data collection. It ensures that every upload really represents the moment it was created, strengthening quality control and audit readiness.

How to do it

  1. Select or add a Upload field.

  2. In the Field menu, check the box “Validate File Uniqueness”.

  3. Save or Add

➡️ Once enabled, operators will see an error if they try to upload a duplicate file.
