Overview

Need to find something fast? The search tool in Next Plus helps you locate work orders, forms, serials, documents, and more — without having to dig through menus. You can even scan barcodes directly into the system for extra speed.

When to Use It

  • When you need to quickly find a specific work order or document

  • To scan a barcode instead of typing

  • To search across all modules or just within a specific area


Step-by-Step Instructions

1. Open the Search Bar

  • Click the magnifying glass icon at the top-right of the screen

  • This opens a universal search field

2. Choose How You Want to Search

  • Scan a barcode (if available):

    • Click into the search field

    • Use a handheld scanner to scan the barcode

  • Type manually:

    • Enter keywords, serial numbers, or work order IDs

3. Narrow Your Search Scope (Optional)

  • Click the “Everywhere” dropdown next to the search bar

  • Select where you want to search:

    • Work Orders

    • Timelines

    • Files

    • Forms, etc.


Tips & Shortcuts

  • Use barcode scanning when you have physical labels — it’s faster and avoids typos

  • Narrow your search scope for better accuracy if you’re getting too many results

  • You can search using partial terms — the system will still return matching results
