🔍 Step 1: Open the Parts Module
On the left-hand menu, click on “Modeling.”
Expand the “Parts” section.
Click on “Parts” to open the main parts screen.
➕ Step 2: Create a New Part
In the Parts screen, click the "+" (Add) button at the top right.
This will open the "New Part" screen where you can start entering all the details.
📝 Step 3: Fill Out the Part Details
In the Details section, you’ll see a list of options. Here’s a quick rundown of what each one means:
Part Name – Give your part a clear, official name.
Part Number – This is the unique ID for your part—make sure it fits your internal system.
Unit of Measurement – Choose how you measure this part (e.g., meters, pieces, kg).
Bulk Production – Check this if the part is produced in bulk.
Automatic Creation – Let the system auto-create this part when needed.
Managed by Revision – Enable if revisions are tracked.
Managed by Serial Number – Use if each part has a unique serial number.
Require Serial Number for Start Production – Turn this on if production can’t begin without a serial number.
Free Stock – Check if the part is considered free stock.
Part Has Expiration Date – Useful for items with a shelf life.
Phantom Part – Select if this part is only used in BOMs and isn’t stocked physically.
Enable Time Tracking – Track how much time is spent on this part in production.
Combined – Use if this part can be combined with others.
Take your time here—these settings help make sure everything flows smoothly later on. 👍
📎 Step 4: Add Documentation (Optional)
Got a drawing, image, or spec sheet? You can upload it here:
Go to the Documents section.
Click the "+" button to upload your file. That’s it!
🔁 Step 5: Add Alternative Parts
Sometimes, you have backup parts that can be used instead. Here’s how to add them:
Scroll to the Alternative Items section.
Click the "+" button.
Select alternative parts from the list in the pop-up window.
Click “Select” to add them.
🔄 Step 6: Add Convertible Part Numbers
Need to switch one part for another during production? No problem!
In the Convertible P/N section, click the "+" button.
Add the part numbers that your current part can convert into.
Save your changes.
🔗 Step 7: Link Sub Items
If your part has components or sub-items, you can connect them here:
Scroll to the Sub Items section.
Click the "+" button to add related items.
✅ Step 8: Finish Up
Once everything looks good:
Double-check your entries.
Click the “Create” button at the bottom right.
And just like that—your new part is in the system! 🎉
