Hey there! Ready to create your first custom form in Next Plus? It's super easy, just follow these steps. This guide will walk you through all the steps of form creation, from selecting your form type, to saving it.
1. Start by Accessing the Forms Page
Go to the left-hand navigation menu and click on "Forms". This will take you to the Forms overview page.
2. Begin Creating a New Form
Look for the "+" button in the top right corner of the screen and click it. This will open the form creation screen.
3. Choose a Form Type
You will now see several options:
Build a new form from scratch: Start with a blank canvas to fully customize your form.
Pre-built templates: Choose from templates like "Defect Reporting," "Machine Downtime," "Product Quality Control," "Safety Control," or "MRB (Material Review Board)". These are great for common use cases.
Click the icon for the desired form type.
4. Configure the Form Details
After selecting your form type, you'll see the "New Form" page. The "Details" tab is the first section you'll need to complete:
Form Name: Enter a clear and recognizable name for your form in the "Form Name" field (it has a little red asterisk next to it!). This name will be used in your forms list.
Icon: Click the arrow next to “Icon” to select an icon to help users quickly identify this form. Choosing an icon will make finding this form easier later on!
Managed by Status: Toggle "Managed by Status" if you need to track the form's status updates and history.
Default Assignee: Click on "Default Assignee" to select who should be assigned new forms by default.
View Permissions: If your company has multiple departments, you can control which teams can see the form.
Create Permissions: Select which user groups will have permission to create the form.
5. Add Fields to Your Form
Next, you will add fields to your form.
Select Fields: In the “Fields Order” section, click the blue “SELECT FIELDS” button.
Add a New Field: To add a new field, click the "+" button in the top right corner of the new window.
Select Existing Fields: Alternatively, select a field from the list by clicking the checkmark next to it.
Configure fields: Set field types and other settings by clicking the pen icon next to each field.
6. Preview Your Form
Form Preview: As you configure your form details and add fields, you’ll see a live preview of your form on the right side of the screen. The preview dynamically updates as you make changes.
7. Save Your New Form
Save Button: Once you are satisfied with your new form, click the “Save” button located at the bottom right corner of the screen.
Congratulations!
